While Miriam O’Reilly successfully sued the BBC for ageism after she was replaced by a younger woman on Countryfile, her colleague Juliet Morris, who lost her job at the same time, says she has “no beef” with the corporation.
“I’ve never felt discriminated against,” Morris tells Mandrake at the launch of Get Me a Celebrity! by Stanley Jackson, at Daunt Books.
“Age hasn’t been a problem, in my case. I might be considered old — I’m 46 — but I don’t feel old. I want to believe it’s how I do the job, and that experience counts for a lot, too. I’m, actually, quite proud of being a bit older — you get more confident.”
