Two immigration judges who sought to remain in post beyond their mandatory retirement age of 70 have lost their case at the Reading Employment Tribunal. The Tribunal held that their claim failed because the upper age limit for judges is a statutory bar which can only be lifted if it is in the public interest to do so.
